Havana, Cuba, May 23rd, 2025 (PMO) – Yesterday, May 22, Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew unveiled a commemorative painting at the St. Kitts and Nevis Embassy in Havana, marking thirty years of formal diplomatic relations between St. Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of Cuba.
The ceremonial event brought together dignitaries, embassy staff, and members of the Kittitian and Nevisian communities in Cuba.

Delivering brief remarks, Prime Minister Drew reflected on the profound significance of the occasion, emphasizing that the relationship between the two countries is measured not just in years, but in lives transformed and dreams realized.
“With the unveiling of this commemorative painting, I am deeply moved by the profound significance of this moment,” Dr. Drew declared. “Thirty years ago, our countries formalized what was already a natural alliance. But the numbers tell only part of the story. The true measure of our relationship lies in the lives and communities transformed, the bridges built, and the dreams realized through this partnership.”
He continued, “As one of more than a hundred Kittitians and Nevisians who have studied in Cuba, I am a living testament to the depth of this bilateral cooperation. The medical training I received here shaped my professional path and my vision of what international solidarity truly means.”
The Prime Minister described the painting as a powerful symbol of the shared journey between the two nations, a journey marked by patience, purpose, and mutual respect.
