BASSETERRE, Saint Kitts, May 30, 2025 (SKNIS) – In honour of Centenarian’s Day, observed this year on May 31, Her Excellency Dame Marcella Liburd, Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis, led a tribute on Friday, May 30, 2025, celebrating citizens who have reached the remarkable milestone of 100 years and beyond.
Accompanied by Minister of State for Ageing, the Honourable Isalean Phillip, and officials from the Ministry of Ageing, Dame Marcella visited four centenarians in Saint Kitts, namely: Esther Harris of St. Peters; Mr. Clarence Hendrickson Williams who resides at The Grange Facility; Angeline Revan of Sandy Point, and Edmund Morton of Greenlands – the Federation’s newest centenarian.

Each centenarian was presented a gift basket, a bouquet of flowers, and heartfelt thanks for their decades of service, resilience, and contributions to national development.
“Today, we honour our centenarians; not just for the years they have lived, but for the wisdom, strength, and legacy they have given to our nation,” said Minister Phillip.
Dame Marcella expressed deep gratitude to each senior for their role in shaping Saint Kitts and Nevis, stating, “Your lives are a living legacy of strength, wisdom, and service.”
Centenarian’s Day is a national moment to celebrate longevity, honour enduring legacies, and reaffirm the country’s commitment to caring for and learning from our elders.
