Abuja, Nigeria, June 25, 2025 (PMO)—In a landmark announcement during his keynote address at the 32nd Annual Meetings of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in Abuja, Nigeria, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Terrance M. Drew, revealed that the twin-island Federation will proudly host the 2026 edition of the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF).

This announcement positions St. Kitts and Nevis at the centre of a historic and growing movement to deepen institutional and commercial ties between Africa and the Caribbean. The ACTIF series, launched by Afreximbank in 2022, has rapidly become a premier platform for fostering strategic collaboration across the Atlantic, drawing hundreds of investors, policymakers, and business leaders from both regions.

“St. Kitts and Nevis is honoured to be chosen as the host of ACTIF 2026,” said Prime Minister Drew.

ACTIF 2026 will mark the fifth annual installment of the groundbreaking forum, following highly successful editions in Barbados (2022), Guyana (2023), The Bahamas (2024), and Grenada (2025). Each forum has generated multi-billion-dollar trade and investment commitments and has facilitated robust dialogue on areas such as renewable energy, agro-processing, fintech, tourism, and cultural industries.

During his keynote, Dr. Drew praised Afreximbank and its President, Professor Benedict Oramah, for their visionary leadership in bringing the Caribbean into the bank’s strategic orbit. He emphasized that the 2026 ACTIF event will build upon that legacy, strengthening South-South cooperation and creating lasting opportunities for both regions.

Additionally, this announcement comes as St. Kitts and Nevis accelerates its own development trajectory under the Sustainable Island State Agenda (SISA), with major reforms in renewable energy, food security, healthcare modernization, and investment facilitation, all of which will feature prominently during the 2026 Forum.

The Prime Minister’s announcement was met with enthusiastic applause from Afreximbank delegates, Caribbean leaders, and African business leaders, signaling the growing confidence in St. Kitts and Nevis as a destination for global convening and meaningful trade diplomacy.
