Japan strengthens relations with Saint Kitts and Nevis with the Appointment of New Ambassador

Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis (13 August, 2025) – The recent appointment of His Excellency MIYASAKA Yusuke as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Japan accredited to Saint Kitts and Nevis, showcases the commitment of the Government of Japan and the Government of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis to continue to deepen the relationship between both nations.

During the dialogue, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs et al, graciously received His Excellency and conveyed the gratitude of the Government and people of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis for Japan’s unwavering support that has allowed for the advancement of its citizens in matters relating to health, fisheries, education and disaster risk reduction.

H.E. MIYASAKA voiced his pleasure in having the opportunity to strengthen the bond between Japan and Saint Kitts and Nevis and indicated that his Government stands ready to lend its support wherever possible. He is especially pleased that the Right Honourable Minister will be participating in the National Day Event for EXPO 2025 in Japan as it presents an avenue for cultural exchange.

This year marks forty years of diplomatic relationship between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Japan, and both Governments are certain that the friendship will grow stronger as they seek to capitalize on opportunities for increased cooperation.
