St. Kitts and Nevis, 22nd September, 2025
Her Excellency Hadiya Claxton, Special Envoy for the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, is proud to announce the first cohort of students selected for the TrailBlaze SKN mentorship programme, an initiative designed to empower the nation’s brightest young minds through mentorship, guidance, and international networks. Originally announced in September 2024, the programme has now come to fruition after receiving an overwhelming response.
Over the past several months, the selection committee reviewed a remarkable pool of applications from students across the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, including high school and college students. From this process, a select group of outstanding students has emerged as the first cohort of TrailBlazers. The inaugural cohort features twelve exceptional students who have demonstrated outstanding potential, leadership, and dedication in their respective schools and communities.
The Prime Minister’s Office congratulates each of the students selected for this prestigious programme. As the first-ever TrailBlaze SKN cohort, these students are true pioneers whose accomplishments to date reflect resilience, talent, and ambition. Their selection as TrailBlazers not only recognizes their hard work and commitment to excellence but also places them in the historic position of shaping the path for future cohorts to follow.
In reflecting on the program, Her Excellency Claxton said: “To be selected for TrailBlaze SKN is an incredible accomplishment, and each of these students has already distinguished themselves through their hard work, discipline, and determination. This initiative is not just about mentorship; it is about shaping futures, building networks, and ensuring that our youth are equipped to lead in any arena that they choose. My hope is that TrailBlaze SKN will inspire and equip them to dream boldly and pursue their goals with confidence.”
The TrailBlaze SKN programme connects these students with mentors who are leading professionals from St. Kitts and Nevis, as well as the broader Caribbean diaspora and beyond. The students will be mentored by professionals who are blazing trails in their respective fields. This initiative aims to empower young minds and provide them with the guidance and support necessary to achieve their goals. The programme will also serve as a pathway for focused, brilliant minds to be aligned with developmental opportunities at home and abroad in their pursuit of excellence.
