New York, USA, September 24, 2025 (PMO)– Mrs. Diani Prince Drew, spouse of the Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, joined First Ladies and Gentlemen from across the world at a historic Joint High-Level Event held at the United Nations Headquarters, today, September 24th, to mark the UN’s 80th anniversary.
The event, co-hosted by the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform (SFLG), the Spouses of CARICOM Leaders Action Network (SCLAN), and the Alliance of Spouses of Heads of State and Representatives of Latin America (ALMA), and facilitated by the Global First Ladies Alliance (GFLA), focused on the theme “The Role of First Ladies and Gentlemen- United for Peace and Prosperity.”
The gathering highlighted the growing influence of First Ladies and Gentlemen as agents of change, committed to championing human dignity, peace, education, health, and social progress beyond political divides. Participants unveiled a Joint Statement reaffirming their intention to foster closer cooperation across regions, support communities affected by wars and crises, and promote dialogue and inclusion as key drivers of peace and security.
Mrs. Prince Drew participated as part of SCLAN and emphasized that Saint Kitts and Nevis remains committed to advancing people-centered solutions in line with the Government’s Sustainable Island State vision. She noted that by working together across regions, First Ladies and Gentlemen can help create a more secure, compassionate, and prosperous future for families around the world.
The event featured opening and closing remarks from several First Ladies and Gentlemen, including Mrs. Olena Zelenska of Ukraine, Mrs. Ann Marie Davis of The Bahamas, Mrs. Rossana Briceño of Belize, and others, while representatives from Lebanon, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and many others were also present.
