Washington, D.C. – October 9, 2025 – The Embassy of Saint Kitts and Nevis was honored to join the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in Washington, D.C. for its National Day Reception, held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the historic Twin Oaks Estate. 

The evening was a vibrant celebration of cultural exchange, highlighted by the performance of the five-time Panorama Champions, the Bank of Nevis EBJ Harmonics Steel Orchestra. Their captivating repertoire featured a dynamic medley of Saint Kitts and Nevis and other Caribbean classics, alongside a heartfelt rendition of the beloved Taiwanese love song, The Moon Represents My Heart. The performance resonated deeply with guests and brought a distinct Caribbean flair to the festivities.

Representative Alexander Tah-ray Yui, Head of TECRO in the United States, expressed his delight and appreciation for the partnership with Saint Kitts and Nevis. His Excellency underscored Ambassador Jacinth Henry-Martin’s generosity in bringing “the famous Champion Steel Pan Band” as well as “this wonderful rum from Saint Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean.” In a post shared on X (@Taiwan_in_US), they remarked that these contributions “not only boosted the joyful vibe but also highlighted our friendship with both countries.” 

Brinley Gold Shipwreck Rum generously contributed an assortment of their signature rums in a variety of flavours, which proved to be a crowd favorite and was warmly enjoyed by attendees. 

TECRO also commended the EBJ Harmonics Steel Orchestra’s performance, which engaged both Taiwanese nationals and members of the international diplomatic community. 

Ambassador Jacinth Henry-Martin emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening ties between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan, noting that the performance symbolized the friendship and shared values between the two nations. 

The Embassy of Saint Kitts and Nevis remains committed to fostering meaningful collaboration with TECRO and looks forward to future opportunities for cultural, educational, and economic exchange.
