Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis (5th December 2025) –The Right Honourable Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs et al, on Tuesday 2nd December 2025, hosted a productive meeting with the Director General/CEO of the Nigeria Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), The Right Honourable Yusuf Buba Yakub, to strengthen existing cooperation and explore new avenues for regional partnership.

The Minister specifically conveyed his profound gratitude to the NTAC for the upcoming deployment of 18 Nigerian experts to Saint Kitts and Nevis. These professionals are expected to provide support in the education and health sectors, significantly contributing to capacity building and essential service delivery in the region.

“Nigeria’s Technical Aid Corps is a true embodiment of South-South cooperation and solidarity,” said Director General Yakub. “The specialists that will serve in the education and health institutions will be making a tangible difference in the lives of the citizens. “Their expertise is invaluable, and we deeply appreciate NTAC’s commitment to our shared regional development goals,” said Minister Douglas. The Director General of NTAC, Yakub, reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to deploying skilled Nigerian manpower to assist friendly nations based on their specific needs.

The core focus of the meeting shifted quickly to identify new areas where NTAC’s technical assistance could be expanded beyond health and education. Both Minster Douglas and the Director General expressed a strong desire to explore collaboration in productive sectors such as Agriculture and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Minister Douglas concluded the meeting by emphasizing that this partnership is a strategic pillar for fostering regional self-reliance and achieving sustainable development across the continent. The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) is an agency of the Nigerian government established to provide technical assistance in the form of human resources to African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries. It promotes cooperation and understanding between Nigeria and these nations through the sharing of expertise.
