Basseterre, Saint Kitts, March 21, 2026 (PMO) – Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance M. Drew leads a delegation from Saint Kitts and Nevis to Abuja, Nigeria, today, March 21st, to participate in the 2nd Annual Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit (AACIS 2026), under the theme ‘One Voice, One Vision: Advancing Afri-Caribbean Unity.’
The Summit, which is co-hosted by the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria-based Aquarian Consult, builds on the success of its inaugural staging in Abuja last year, an event co-founded by Saint Kitts and Nevis and widely regarded as a pivotal moment in strengthening economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties between Africa and the Caribbean.
Prime Minister Drew will be joined by a diverse delegation of citizens and stakeholders, reflecting the Federation’s commitment to inclusive participation in global engagement. The Summit will also welcome delegations from across the Caribbean region, including Grenada and the British Virgin Islands, alongside industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and cultural figures from across the African continent.
Over the course of the multi-day Summit, participants will engage in high-level discussions, keynote addresses, panel sessions, and bilateral engagements focused on deepening collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean. Key thematic areas include investment facilitation, the creative economy, agriculture and food security, private capital mobilization, trade integration, and institutional cooperation.
This engagement is also expected to facilitate a number of bilateral meetings and strategic discussions aimed at expanding opportunities for trade, investment, education, cultural exchange, and sustainable development. The delegation will be exposed not only to formal sessions, but also to networking engagements, cultural showcases, and investment-focused dialogues designed to translate connections into concrete outcomes.
Prime Minister Drew has consistently emphasized that the relationship between Africa and the Caribbean must move beyond symbolism to structured, sustained collaboration. This Summit represents a continuation of that vision, one rooted in shared history, shared identity, and a shared commitment to economic empowerment and global positioning.
The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis views this initiative as a critical component of its broader strategy to position the Federation and its people on the global stage. By actively participating in platforms such as AACIS, the Federation continues to create pathways for its citizens to access new markets, build international partnerships, and contribute meaningfully to global development.
