Basseterre, St. Kitts, Monday, April 13, 2026: On Friday, April 10, the Minister of Education,
Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, hosted a special brunch in honour of public school principals and
deputy principals at The Lagos, Half Moon Bay.
The brunch celebrated the unwavering commitment and dedication of school leadership to the
education sector in St. Kitts. Minister Hanley expressed his sincere appreciation for their tireless
efforts in shaping the minds and futures of students throughout St. Kitts.
As part of the celebration, each attendee received a token of appreciation in the form of a
specially prepared gift package, along with a laptop to support their ongoing administrative and
instructional responsibilities.
Special recognition was also given to two outstanding educators for their years of service. Mr.
Dale Phipps was honoured as the longest-serving male principal, and Ms. Suzette Cannonier was
honoured as the longest-serving female principal.
The brunch reinforced the Ministry’s commitment to recognizing and supporting the invaluable
work of educators across the island.
