The Human Resource Management Department on behalf of the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs in the Government of St Kitts and Nevis wishes to invite persons to apply for the position of Senior Clerk on a full-time basis.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing senior clerical and administrative support to the Department in which assigned.
- Assisting with office support where a staff member is absent.
- Maintaining staff attendance schedules for the appropriate supervising officer.
- Managing staff vacation schedules.
- Managing purchase orders and processing approved invoices.
- Managing stocks of office supplies.
- Managing and maintaining established filing systems.
- Preparing routine correspondence, reports, schedules and other administrative documents as required.
- Assisting with the coordination and follow-up of administrative matters.
- Providing guidance and support to junior clerical staff as required.
- Performing any other job-related duties as may be assigned.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Five (5) CXC/CSEC subjects or an Associate’s Degree as an asset.
- Two (2) years’ experience in a related field.
- Sound knowledge of computers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Very good organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to maintain accurate administrative records and filing systems.
- Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications.
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to provide guidance and support to junior staff as required.
- Salary and Allowances
- Basic Salary K22 – K27: EC$41,196 – EC$51,180 per annum
