Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 03, 2016 (SKNIS)—In an era not only of traditional media, social media have risen to the forefront of the information age in providing news, views and opinions in record breaking time, reaching millions of people. Although social media have pitfalls where there is abuse, social media complement the traditional media in many ways.

Social media are computer-mediated technologies that allow the creating and sharing of information, ideas, career interests and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks, whereas, the traditional media use television, radio, newspapers, magazines, newsletters, tax press and other print publications.
