Minister of Tourism, The Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant said that the cruise sector remains on a path of continued growth, and that stakeholders need to do everything in their power to ensure a welcoming, memorable and enjoyable experience for the cruise visitors.

“The entire nation stands ready to welcome our guests to St. Kitts,” Minister Grant said. “The increase in cruise arrivals is a clear indication that our unique attractions and experiences, tours and services are in high demand,” Minister Grant said.

St. Kitts has established itself as one of the leading cruise destination in the Caribbean. However, Minister Grant said this achievement should not mean that stakeholders should become complacent, but continue to work hard to exceed the expectations of our guests.

Cruise ships will make a total of 391 calls to St. Kitts in this cruise season, with 16 new ships arriving here for the very first time.

In the last cruise season (2015-’16) cruise ships made 373 calls to St. Kitts, bringing 913,716 passengers, which was the most ever in a cruise season.

This cruise season (2016-’17) is expected to be another record breaking season with a projected arrival of 1,125,927 passengers.
