PM HARRIS CONGRATULATES H.E. JAIR BOLSONARO ON BECOMING THE 38TH PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERATIVE REPUBLIC OF BRAZIL

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, November 7, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, extended congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis to His Excellency Jair Bolsonaro on being elected the 38th President of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

Mr. Bolsonaro of the Social Liberal Party received over 55 percent of the popular votes in the October 28th run-off presidential elections.

In a congratulatory letter to President Bolsonaro, Prime Minister Harris said, “Despite the many challenges confronting Brazil at this time, your election to the helm is indicative of the confidence that the Brazilian public has in your ability to make a sound contribution that will effect positive changes in the country.”

Dr. Harris’ letter continued, “I am confident that with God’s grace you will exceed the expectations of your people, as you continue to champion critical issues of law and order, patriotism, religious and family values, whilst reducing the prevalence of corruption in Brazil.”

Prime Minister Harris highlighted the fact that St. Kitts and Nevis and the Federative Republic of Brazil have enjoyed cordial diplomatic relations. He added that the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is committed to not only forging closer bonds between our people, but also lending support as we strive to pursue the ideals of democracy and international peace and security.

“I wish you success and good health and trust that the Federative Republic of Brazil will see renewed prosperity under your astute leadership,” Dr. Harris added.
