Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 26, 2018 (SKNIS): Khale Thomas, who has been announced as the 2018 National State Scholar has, at only 19 years of age, not only received this prestigious award, but also has numerous accolades under his belt.

While in attendance at the Verchilds High School (VHS), he was a member of the school’s Honour Society, having received numerous honour roll and principal’s list awards.

In 2016, Khale earned the best CSEC results in his school. He attained 15 subject passes with 10 grade ones and five grade twos. He was also valedictorian for his class.

Recently, Khale Thomas was recognized as one of the 25 most remarkable teens. During the special sitting of Parliament to honour the teens, Khale’s other achievements were mentioned.

He also received the Dr. Charles Warner Special Award for Most Outstanding Award at CSEC and the Chavez Hazel Award for the student who was the most consistent academically from 1st-5th form. Worthy of note is that Khale is the first student in his high school’s history to return a grade 1 in CSEC Physics.

At the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), Khale earned a position on the 2017 CAPE Regional Merit List as 9th best performer in the region in Geography. In 2017 and 2018, Khale attained a total of eight grade ones and three grade twos at the CAPE level.

CXC has provided the Scholarship Rank Order Listing, which is based on candidates’ performance on the 2017 and 2018 CAPE exams. Candidates are ranked by the highest number of Grade 1 passes obtained in seven qualifying units and then other criteria in the event of a tie.

The rank order is as follows:
