At the last World Games held in Los Angeles USA in 2015, our athletes were very successful. Seventeen (17) of our athletes participated and returned home with twenty three (23) medals including thirteen (13) gold.  This time around the team is just as keen and looking forward to performing just as well. Our athletes will compete in six (6) sports: athletics, bocce, cycling, swimming, tennisand triathlon.   .

Special Olympics is a global organization serving more than 3.9 million athletes in 170 nations.  Special Olympics St Kitts and Nevis has been a proud member since 1983. Our organization exists to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic type sports to children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.  These activities give them continued opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship.

Special Olympics take this opportunity to thank the Ministry of Sports (St Kitts and Nevis) and the companies who have stepped forward to date with contributions to our “Road to Abu Dhabi”Fund Raising Campaign.  The Special Olympics Board continue to appeal for other local businesses and individuals to contribute to this cause and help our athletes go for the Gold.
