​A BILL to amend the Prison (Extramural Sentences) Act, Cap. 19.09.

​

​BE IT ENACTED by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the National Assembly of Saint Christopher and Nevis and by the authority of the same as follows:

 

1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the Prison (Extramural Sentences)(Amendment) Act, 2019.

 

2. Interpretation.

In this Act,

​“Act” means the Prison (Extramural Sentences) Act, Cap. 19.09.

3. Amendment of section 2.

The Act is amended in section 2 by replacing the definition of the expression “Extramural Prison Officer” with the following new definition

​“2.

“Extramural Prison Officer” means a person appointed as such by the Governor General and in default of such appointment means the Commissioner of Corrections or the Keeper of the Prison to which the person mentioned in paragraph (a), (b), and (c) of section 3 would be liable to be committed by the Court.”.
