STAY OVER ARRIVALS EXPECTED TO PICK UP WITH MORE AIRLIFT INTO THE FEDERATION BEGINNING OCTOBER

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 27, 2021 (SKNIS): The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis continues to increase international air travel as part of its phased approach to economic recovery with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Federation is expecting a much improved last quarter in 2021 relative to 2020 and a satisfactory winter season in 2022.

Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, during his monthly press conference on August 24, reported on the expected increase in stay-over arrivals.

“American Airlines – The Miami daily flight to St. Kitts will resume on Tuesday, November 2nd; Delta – Atlanta, Saturday, daily flight will end at the end of this month and resume in during the Fall providing Saturday service; United Airlines – The Saturday, weekly flight, will resume on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, continuing into the winter season up to around the 30th of 2022,” Prime Minister Harris said.

“British Airways – The flight should commence with once-weekly service – October 3rd and October 10th, 2021. Thereafter it is loaded to come twice weekly, Saturdays and Wednesdays. Canada – Air Canada Rouge is loaded to commence Sunday, November 7th, 2021, and this will continue throughout the winter season climaxing on or around the end of April 2022,” the prime minister added.

Dr. Harris also said that tourism officials are working diligently to expand and consolidate further traffic to the Federation.
