Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 19, 2021 (NEMA): The St. Kitts and Nevis Met Office and The National Emergency Management Agency wish to inform the public that the system we are currently monitoring developed into Tropical Depression #Sixteen last night and then into Tropical Storm Peter this morning.

As of 5:00a.m. today, Tropical Storm Peter was located at 18.0N, 53.5West Northwest at 13Knots, 15miles per hour with maximum sustained winds at 40mph. The center will pass well to our north east; however, it is possible to see some rainbands later today into tomorrow accompanied with some lightning.

We have been spared any major direct impact from this storm based on the projected path.

St. Kitts and Nevis is under no watch nor warning.

Residents are asked to stay tuned to the National Emergency Management Agency and the St. Kitts and Nevis Met Office as we closely monitor the systems in the Atlantic.
