Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 22, 2024 (SKNIS): The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis strongly condemns the recent attack on the diplomatic residence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Sudan.

This violent breach of international diplomatic norms is a cause for deep concern, as it not only undermines the security of diplomatic missions but also threatens the broader framework of global peace and cooperation.

The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis stands in solidarity with the UAE and calls for a comprehensive investigation into the incident. The safeguarding of diplomatic personnel and properties, in accordance with international law, is of paramount importance, and all parties are urged to respect the inviolability of diplomatic missions.

Additionally, the Government expresses profound concern regarding the ongoing conflict in Sudan and calls on all parties to prioritise dialogue and peaceful solutions to the current crisis. St. Kitts and Nevis remains committed to supporting international efforts aimed at restoring stability, security, and peace in Sudan.

Thoughts are with those affected by this violence, and the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis reaffirms its dedication to upholding the principles of diplomacy and peace in all international relations.
