Basseterre, St. Kitts – As part of the Government’s ongoing campaign to address crime and violence from a public health perspective, the Citizen Security Secretariat is set to host a series of Better Opportunity Fairs throughout the coming months. These community-focused events aim to connect residents with resources, services, and opportunities that promote positive development and social upliftment.
The Better Opportunity Fairs will provide a platform for businesses, government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organisations to engage directly with the public and showcase their contributions to areas such as economic empowerment, education and training, youth development, mental health, and social support.
“We recognise that crime prevention begins with access—access to opportunities, knowledge, and support systems,” said Eartha Carey, Co-ordinator of the Citizen Security Secretariat. “These fairs are a step towards strengthening the social fabric of our communities and encouraging healthier, more empowered choices.”
