H.E. Dr. Mutryce Williams, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Permanent Representative to the UN said, “H.E. Sir Edmund Lawrence, was the embodiment of “Country Above Self.” Throughout his personal and professional life, his unwavering commitment to family, community, and country became the standard for public service. His contribution to national and regional leadership in the sphere of economic empowerment and development stands as a model across the Caribbean.”

Inspired by the expressions of sympathy from UN colleagues and nationals who paid their respects, she remarked, “the former Governor General was a visionary leader, a principled, and a humble man, who believed deeply in dignity, determination, and devotion. These are qualities that build civic cohesion, nurtures education, and inevitably result in moral clarity and service. The entire team at the Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis to the UN extends sincerest sympathy, and solidarity with Lady Hulda Lawrence, the entire family, and nation of St. Kitts and Nevis.”
