Basseterre, St. Kitts, 26 November, 2025 (PMO) — Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew has issued a firm defence for Minister the Hon. Marsha Henderson, describing recent criticisms against her as “strange attacks” lacking any basis, and reaffirming that she has the full confidence and support of the Government and the people of Central Basseterre.
Speaking during his October 25th Round Table session, the Prime Minister strongly rejected the political attempts to undermine the Minister’s beautification work in Central Basseterre.
In his remarks, Dr. Drew stated that the Minister’s dedication, composure and commitment “have been at the highest level,” noting that the criticisms being levelled are “really unbecoming” and do not reflect who Kittitians and Nevisians are as a people.
“She continues to work with the community to get Central Basseterre into a better state of cleanliness… She has my full support. She has the full support of the Labour administration… and strong support in the community where it matters and the country as a whole.”

Prime Minister Drew also condemned the defacing of public property, calling on citizens to set a higher standard for young people, “I continue to ask our people to act in a way that is becoming of a modern, civilized society.”

The Prime Minister urged political actors to rise above attempts to sow division and instead join national efforts to uplift communities. He called on the public to emulate Minister Henderson’s example of service and professionalism.
