Roseau, Dominica, February 11, 2026 (PMO) – Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, continued his high-level consultations with regional leaders today, February 11th, with a productive meeting in the Commonwealth of Dominica with Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit.
The engagement forms part of Prime Minister Drew’s ongoing diplomatic outreach ahead of the 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, which will be hosted in St. Kitts and Nevis from February 24th – 27th.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Skerrit warmly welcomed Prime Minister Drew and his delegation, commending the CARICOM Chair for what he described as a deliberate and proactive approach to regional leadership.
“I want to commend you on the initiative that you’ve taken as Chairman to visit our member states ahead of the Conference of Heads in St. Kitts,” Prime Minister Skerrit stated. “It is a good thing that you’re doing, so that one can appreciate the various challenges, the issues and concerns, and what is expected of the Conference of Heads, especially in light of the current environment.”
Prime Minister Skerrit underscored the significance of the upcoming Heads of Government Meeting, noting that citizens across the Caribbean view this gathering as “a very special and interesting one,” with expectations for meaningful and deliberate outcomes.
“The citizens of the Caribbean will expect certain results coming out of this,” he said, while assuring the CARICOM Chair of Dominica’s full support. “All of us stand in complete support of your efforts, and we will work towards ensuring a successful Conference of Heads in St. Kitts and Nevis.”
The 50th Heads of Government Meeting is expected to address critical issues including regional security, economic resilience, climate change, trade, and the evolving global geopolitical landscape.
