AN ACTIVE DUTY MEMBER OF THE ST.KITTS NEVIS DEFENCE FORCE DIED AS A RESULT OF INJURIES SUTATINED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON FRIDAY EVENING (APRIL 13).

PRIVATE KECHEL D. PEMBERTON WAS A MEMBER OF ST. KITTS NEVIS REGIMENTATTANCED TO ALPHA COMPANY AND HAS SERVED THE FEDERATION SINCE 2009.  

A SECOND MEMBER OF THE REGIMENT WAS ALSO INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT.  HE IS WARDED AT THE JOSEPH N. FRANCE GENERAL HOSPITAL IN STABLE CONDITION.  

“EVERY MEMBER OF OUR FORCE IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR FAMILY,  PRIVATE KECHEL PEMBERTON WAS NO EXCEPTION AND AN EXCELLENT SOLDIER, AND OUR TEAM IS SHOCKED BY HIS UNTIMELY DEATH, SAID,  LT. COL J. ANTHONY COMRIE, COMMANDER OF THE ST.KITTS NEVIS DEFENCE FORCE.   COMMANDER COMRIE ADDED, OUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF PRIVATE PEMBERTON AT THIS TIME.

THE FORCE COMMANDER ALSO EXPRESSED CONCERN FOR THE WELFARE OF THE OTHER SOLDIER WHO IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING MEDICAL TREATMENT.  

THE FORCE CHAPLAIN AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES HAVE BEEN MOBILIZED TO SUPPORT THE FAMILIES IN THIS CHALLENGING TIME.

THE ROYAL ST CHRISTOPHER AND NEVIS POLICE FORCE IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT.
