His Excellency The Governor-General, Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP this morning (Wednesday) received in audience His Excellency Mr. Holger Michael, Ambassador designate of the Federal Republic of Germany who presented his Letters of Credence from the President of the Republic of Germany Frank – Walter Steinmeier.
Ambassador Michael is a career diplomat having served at various German Embassies across the globe including Turkey, Nicaragua, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Bangladesh and Malaysia and currently serves as Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Suriname.
The Federal Republic of Germany is a major economic and political power of the European Continent and is the most populous number of the European Union. Germany’s economy is the largest manufacturing economy in Europe and the World’s fourth largest economy by nominal GDP.
His Excellency The Governor-General and the Ambassador discussed matters of mutual interest such as climate change and the current project of website to be entitled www.historicstkitts.kn to be launched Friday 25th May at Government House. Ambassador Michael and the Honourable Prime Minister will be participating in the launch of the website.
Ambassador Michael will be paying courtesy calls on the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and is accompanied on this visit by his wife Mrs. Hilary Michael.
