Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 30, 2018 (RSCNPF): In an effort to ensure that the public is better aware of the work of the Commissioner of Police, a Twitter account was created for that office.

Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley mandated the creation of the account for the Office of the Commissioner with the hope that it enables people to have a greater appreciation for the operations of the post. It will also be used to share information about the organisation, its crime-fighting efforts and the community policing initiative.

“I believe it is important to let the public know what we are doing, as there are many activities that contribute to our efforts to create safer communities such as our investigations, training, operations, social activities, etc.,” Commissioner Queeley explained.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) already makes good use of social media platforms and shares information daily on its Facebook page. The Twitter account will complement the page and offer citizens and residents of the Federation more ways to follow the work of the RSCNPF and its High Command.

“We get very good feedback through our Facebook page and now, this new move will allow us to connect with the public in a different way. We will also use it to help people better understand the structure of the force. We are excited to hear from persons using these platforms – their views, ideas and suggestions – as we endeavour to improve the quality of service to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis,” said the Commissioner.
