Earlier that morning His Excellency was a special guest on the National Trust Voices Programme on WINN FM and reflected on the Road of Independence.
Her Excellency Mrs. Janet Douglas, British High Comissioner based in Barbados updated His Excellency on matters of mutual interest. High Comissioner Douglas was also scheduled to pay courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark A.G. Brantley.
His Excellency Mr. Urs Schnider Ambassador of Switzerland to St. Kitts and Nevis discusses issues relating to Switzerland’s participation in international agencies and updated His Excellency on opportunities for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis to avail themselves of training offered by Switzerland. The Ambassador had been pleased to join his other colleague diplomats in celebrating the serveral activities marking 35th Anniversary of our Independence.
On Friday morning (21st September) His Excellency as Patron of Junior Achievers St. Kitts and Nevis attended the relaunch of Junior Achievers St. Kitts and Nevis which was first launched in 2004. The relaunch ceremony was held at The Ocean Inn and was chaired by Mrs. Brenda John of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievers. Permanent Secretary of Education, Mr. William V. Hodge represented the Honourable Minister of Education and delivered remarks on his behalf.
Other sponsors of ICWI and Christophe Harbour also addressed the gathering. Mr. Chris Ghita, General Manager of OTI, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievers delivered the Vote of Thanks.
