Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 13, 2018 (SKNIS): How will Santa get here? With a thriving tourism industry with hundreds of thousands of tourists each year visiting the shores of St. Kitts and Nevis, Santa arrived on MS Adventure of the Seas, which docked today, December 13, at Port Zante, St. Kitts, to attend the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Holiday Giveaway Charity Event.
Santa made his way to Government House for the event, which was held under the auspices of Governor General, His Excellency Sir S.W Tapley Seaton, who greeted children from all primary schools, the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School and the St. Christopher’s Children Home. Several of the children ran to Santa and welcomed him with hugs. The children also danced with Santa as the popular song by Calypsonian King Obstinate of Antigua “How will Santa Get Here?” played in the background.
Along with Santa, other crew members were present to sing carols such as Jingle-Bells and Frosty the Snowman. Several of the crew members were dressed as elves and one enthusiastic crew member wore a reindeer costume.
Each child received a present from Santa during the event. The bright smiles on each child’s face showed how grateful they were to not only receive a gift, but grateful for the opportunity to meet jolly, old, Saint Nick.
The children were also able to enjoy other activities such as face painting
The FCCA has been giving much cheer to the children of St. Kitts and Nevis for over 10 years. This year is no different, says Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Lindsay Grant. “We are grateful for it because some children are not able to get toys at Christmas time and so we are very grateful.”
