St. Kitts and Nevis Delivers CARICOM Statement at the United Nations Security Council Addressing the issue of Children and Armed Conflict: Effective Strategies to End and Prevent Grave Violations Against Children

June 30, 2025

As a boy, he grew up in Upper Market Street and, as all young boys did in this area, attended the Boys’ School.  Even at this early age, he was pleasant and playful.  This was the genesis of his establishing meaningful relationships.

His early years as a young adult saw him venturing out to St. Thomas after winning the Pye Radio Competition, a singing competition. He subsequently migrated to St. Maarten where he remained until his eventual retirement.

All the while, Arrow still managed to satisfy his adventurous entrepreneurial spirit by having various business ventures.

Even while pursuing his professional ambition, King Arrow was still able to bring balance in his life through the pursuit of the expressive Artform of calypso.   This Calypso Genius with the golden voice was able to permanently and positively impact the musical arena in both Saint Kitts and St Maarten.   We are all familiar with the national pride master piece ‘Arise’, as well as the timeless ballad ‘Christmas Pains’ but, he has penned many others which are just as relevant.

He competed in the National Calypso Competition of St. Kitts and, also a special King of Kings Competition.  He also participated in St. Maarten Carnival through his various recordings.

King Arrow was also able to foster solid meaningful relationships among his fellow calypsonians.   He was extremely fortunate to share a lifelong bond with King Ellie Matt.  This connection can be described as a deep brotherly relationship founded on their mutual devotion to calypso.

King Arrow was, above all, a person who deeply cherished family.   He knew most of the connections and would always make it his business to seek out any leads of alleged family ties.

TODAY WE PROUDLY SALUTE MR ERROL M DOLPHIN FOR THE MEDAL OF HONOUR IN THE FIELD OF CALYPSO AND MUSIC
