Award win for creator of prestigious St Kitts-Nevis women’s conference Professor Jeune Guishard-Pine, OBE this week received an Amazing Woman Global Award for her role in creating the International Women in Employment and Business (WEB) Conference held last week at the Windsor University School of Medicine (WUSOM) in Cayon. The conference fulfilled its promise of hitting high notes when Professor Guishard-Pine brought a delegation of seven (7) outstanding professional women of Caribbean heritage from the UK.
His Excellency Sir Tapley Seaton receives the visiting delegation at Government House With the UN Gender Equality agenda in mind, the conference with the theme Resilience and Readiness in a Global Environment had a unique focus on how both men and women can harmonise their efforts so that women can increase their capacity to take on leadership roles and responsibilities. The workshops in the afternoon of March 1 covered a broad spectrum of pertinent issues. Attendees also received individual and group coaching sessions with one of the women from the visiting delegation on March 2nd at the Ocean Terrace Inn.

The conference also delivered on its promise to provide a generative element with a highly successful special workshop for young women led by award-winning social activist Peaches Cadogan co-Founder of the Womanhood Academy who launched the St Kitts-Nevis chapter of the charity.

The Conference was preceded by a mentoring session for potential future female entrepreneurs in the Federation and a group of female trainee doctors who attend WUSOM.

Professor Guishard-Pine who is an educationalist summarised the conference aims simply as “Education Empowers”. She received the award at a presentation at Marshall’s restaurant on Tuesday 5th March.
