BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 29, 2019 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy, has congratulated the leadership of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) on the successful staging of its 54th annual National Convention on Sunday, April 28, 2019.
Held at the party’s headquarters on Lockhart Street in West Basseterre, PAM’s annual National Convention was staged under the theme, “Winning More: Convention 54!”
Prime Minister Harris described Sunday’s event as highly energetic, with a number of presentations from the various speakers, locally and regionally, that were of good substance that painted a positive outlook for the future of the Team Unity coalition.
Additionally, Dr. Harris commended Deputy Prime Minister and Political Leader of the People’s Action Movement, the Honourable Shawn Richards, for his strong and unwavering support at the Cabinet level and to him as the prime minister.
“What a wonderful asset he has been to the Team Unity family—a deputy essential to keep us living vital. So I say thank you to him for outstanding support in Government and outstanding support as a friend and political colleague,” said Prime Minister Harris, while delivering fraternal greetings on behalf of the People’s Labour Party (PLP) of which he leads.
The prime minister also acknowledged the commitment and hard work of the Honourable Lindsay Grant, the Honourable Eugene Hamilton and the Honourable Ian Patches Liburd.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the People’s Action Movement used the well-attended national convention to reiterate PAM’s long term commitment to the Team Unity movement.
In a well-received address, PAM’s Political Leader, the Honourable Shawn Richards stated, “We in the People’s Action Movement affirm our commitment to Team Unity and give our full support to Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, the Political Leader of the Peoples Labour Party, PLP, as Prime Minister and other leaders in the Team Unity Administration. We acknowledge that with Prime Minister Harris and the Honourable Mark Brantley, Political Leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement, CCM, with myself as Leader of the Peoples Action Movement, PAM, we will work tirelessly to lead our Parties together in this exciting, new era of governance for the betterment of St. Kitts and Nevis.”
