Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 04, 2019 (SKNIS): The Department of Youth Empowerment will bring together key partners, contributors and sponsors to express appreciation for their support of the department’s programmes, projects and other activities over the past year.
This will be done at the Youth Service Reception slated for Thursday, December 05, 2019, at the Carambola Beach Club.
Several awards will be presented including, The Minister’s Award, The Director’s Award, Most Outstanding Volunteers, Most Remarkable Parent, Most Outstanding Youth Organization, Most Outstanding Partner Organization, and Most Generous Partner.
During the reception, presentations will be made by youth officers highlighting the success of various initiatives. The youth officers will then outline plans to improve the effectiveness of their programmes and share ways that companies, agencies and individuals can continue to contribute.
Youth Officer, Steven Gilbert said that the Youth Service Reception is an excellent way to culminate activities for Youth Month, which is celebrated annually in November in St. Kitts.
Other activities that marked Youth Month included, a First Aid and CPR Training on November 02; Youth Island Bike Ride on November 03; Minister’s Youth Forum on November 20; The 25 Most Remarkable Teens Awards Ceremony on November 22; High School Chefs’ Competition on November 27; and a March and Rally on November 29.
