Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 02, 2021 (SKNIS): Questions concerning a temporary halt of unvaccinated travellers into St. Kitts and Nevis were addressed on Tuesday (June 01) by Abdias Samuel, Chairman of the National COVID-19 Task Force.
During a national broadcast on May 25, Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris announced that “effective May 29, 2021, only fully vaccinated travellers will be allowed entry into St. Kitts and Nevis until further notice. Exemptions will be considered for residents and citizens.”
At Tuesday’s press briefing, Mr. Samuel clarified that “nationals, citizens, residents, and students with residency status will be permitted to enter the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis…”
He did note, however, that in the interest of public safety, the government strongly encourages everyone who can safely receive a COVID-19 jab, to do so. This will provide the necessary protection to young adults and other members of society, such as the very old and those with critical medical conditions, who are unable to be vaccinated at this time.
All incoming travellers must submit a negative RT-PCR Test 3 days prior to their arrival into St. Kitts and Nevis. They must also complete the necessary Customs and Immigration Forms posted on knatravelform.kn. Once the necessary approvals are received, all fully vaccinated travellers must complete nine days of quarantine. Unvaccinated individuals are required to complete 14 days of quarantine.
