A Tribute to Mr. Arthur L. Evelyn CSM, OBE, JP

I wish to pay a most respectful tribute to the late Arthur L. Evelyn CSM, OBE, JP. I first interacted with the late Mr. Evelyn when he became a Member of the very first Nevis Island Administration in 1983, upon attainment of Independence.

I was always aware of Mr. Evelyn’s humility and humanity and the respect which was accorded to him at all times. His was a life of service whether in the public or private sphere.

He was an innovator wishing to ensure that what mattered was that service was given to his fellow citizens.

At all times, he was an affable individual and a person whose life and work were an inspiration to us all.

On behalf of all of us, I pay tribute to this Icon and Statesman and pray that his soul will rest in eternal peace!

My sincerest sympathy to his family and friends!
