Participating in and attending his first official event as the new Minister of Social Security was the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. He delivered the Old Testament Reading from the book of Exodus Chapter 33, verses 12 to 23.

A significant highlight of the Board’s involvement in the morning’s service was a presentation by Acting Director, Ms Marilyn Johnson who gave an overview of the scope of work of Social Security over the last 45 years, before making a monetary contribution to the Church in support of its ministry.  This was followed by a beautiful rendition in song by the Stanley Amory Memorial Choir featuring Mrs Lucine Pemberton Vaughan and Mr Joseph Tudor.

Activities of the anniversary observance will continue later in the month with a Stakeholder’s Breakfast Meeting at the St Kitts Marriott Resort on Tuesday February 21st, 2023 with a featured presentation by the Actuary, Mr Derek Osborne.  The meeting will give stakeholders a first-hand opportunity to discuss future projections and challenges of Social Security and the topic of Reform.

On Thursday February 23rd, 2023, the Induction Ceremony of the 2022-2023 Cohort of new Social Security Scholars will take place at the Social Security Board at 4pm.

The Board expresses thanks to the people of the Federation for their continued support over the past 45 years and pledges its commitment to providing meaningful benefits to all eligible persons, guaranteed by sound financial management and efficient administration.

May God continue to bless the Institution for generations to come.
