BASSETERRE (4 May, 2023): Minister of Tourism, The Hon. Marsha Henderson graciously accepted on Wednesday US$20,000 from Republic of China (Taiwan) for the staging of 25th Anniversary of the St. Kitts Music Festival, which takes place 22-24 June, 2023.

Minister Henderson accepted the cheque in a brief ceremony at the Ministry of Tourism on Port Zante, which was also attended by His Excellency Michael Lin, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to St. Kitts and Nevis, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Tivanna Wharton and Chairman of the Festival’s Executive Committee, Allister Williams.

Minister Henderson said that she was extremely grateful for the support, and pointed out that the contribution will certainly assist in producing one of the most spectacular musical event in the Caribbean.

“On behalf of the Government of St. Kitts-Nevis I would like to thank the people of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for their contribution to nation building, particularly in the development of our tourism industry,” Henderson said. “The St. Kitts Music Festival is celebrating 25 years, which is a significant milestone for us. Also, this year we are celebrating 40 years of diplomatic ties with Taiwan. So this contribution certainly underscores the deep and enduring friendship between our two nations.”
Minister Henderson added that the Festival provides tremendous returns to the economy in the month of June, which traditionally is a slow period for the tourism industry.

The count down to the biggest summer event is on so don’t miss your opportunity to see world-class artistes the likes of Burna Boy, Chronixx, Skinny Fabulous, Air Supply, the Grandmasters and many, many more.

Log on to the Festival’s website: www.stkittsmusicfestival.com  to purchase tickets for US$50 or EC$135, and view further updates and additional details.
