Ambassador Francis and Magistrate Chang exchanged ideas for cooperation in various fields such as education, innovation, agriculture, people empowerment, and cultural exchanges.

“The Embassy and the people and government of Yunlin County have a strong relationship and are committed to bolstering cooperation through heightened interactions,” said Ambassador Francis.

In January of this year, Ambassador Francis witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Charles E. Mills Secondary School in Sandy Point, Saint Kitts, and Dou Nan Senior High School in Yunlin County, Taiwan. This landmark agreement has facilitated cross-cultural education, enabling teachers and students from both schools to engage in a rich exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Magistrate Chang Li-Shan expressed gratitude to Ambassador Francis for his numerous visits to the county. She thanked him for sharing the culture and history of Saint Kitts and Nevis with students at Dou Nan Senior High School and Tuku Elementary School and participating in the Beigang Lantern Festival.

Ambassador Francis revealed to Magistrate Chang that during the Federation’s 41st Independence celebration, the Embassy intends to donate picture books authored by individuals from Saint Kitts and Nevis to the Yunlin County Government. This initiative aims to enrich the cultural exchange further and deepen our mutual understanding.

On behalf of the Yunlin County Government, Magistrate Chang Li-Shan donated some picture books about the county to the Embassy.

Deputy Magistrate Xie Shu-Ya, other Yunlin County Government officials, and the principal and staff of Dou Nan Senior High School attended the meeting.
