New Delhi, India (8th August, 2024)- On the 5th of August, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs, successfully signed two significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with India’s Ministry of Sports and Ministry of Electronics & IT, during his official visit to India. These agreements mark a pivotal step in strengthening bilateral relations and fostering cooperation between the two nations.
The two MoUs signed are:
1. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Sports: This MoU aims to enhance collaboration in the field of sports between the two countries. It will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices in various sports disciplines. The agreement is expected to promote the development of sports at all levels and create opportunities for athletes, coaches, and sports administrators to participate in joint training programs, tournaments, and other activities.
2. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Sharing Successful Digital Solutions Implemented At Population Scale For Digital Transformation: This MoU focuses on the exchange of digital solutions and innovations to address common challenges and improve public services. The agreement will enable both countries to collaborate on projects related to digital governance, cybersecurity, e-governance, and digital infrastructure development. By sharing expertise and resources, we aim to accelerate the digital transformation of our societies and enhance the efficiency and accessibility of government services.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Douglas expressed his optimism about the future of the partnership between the two nations. “These agreements represent a significant milestone in our diplomatic relations with India.
