The fellowship which has a highly customized individual curriculum, is developed by DOALOS for successful candidates, based on the high‐priority needs identified by their States and with a view to building and enhancing the capacity of the country to address critical matters relative to the blue economy. Strategic needs identified for the federation include the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with specific attention to the Intersectionality of Gender Equity (SDG5), Life Below Water (SDG14), Increasing Ocean Literacy, and Special Species Conservation of Sea Turtles.

Ms. Greaux underscored that she was honoured to have the opportunity to represent the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis at the highly regarded and prestigious ocean governance-based capacity development program. She said, “I am proud to be able to present the report on “Women as agents of change who are increasing ocean literacy and supporting the conservation of sea turtles in St. Kitts and Nevis.”

She further stated that she was proud, “to submit a comprehensive Ocean Governance Matrix for St. Kitts and Nevis. We have done so much, and these stories should be told to the world as we continue to contribute to best practise sharing. It is critical that we promote the Sustainable Island State Agenda through development mechanisms that support and explore our existence as maritime state.”

H.E. Dr. Mutryce Williams, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations congratulated Ms. Greaux on her selection and highly commendable and distinguished participation in this prestigious program, particularly as the federation transitions to a sustainable island state with women and youth at the forefront.

A key component of the St. Kitts and Nevis Permanent Mission to the United Nation’s work program in keeping with Prime Minister the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew’s leadership, and Foreign Minister the Rt. Honourable Dr. Denzil L. Douglas’ strategic diplomacy is to scale up targeted opportunities across multilateral organizations to contribute and enhance the sustainable development of the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
