Basseterre, St. Kitts — On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, nonprofit organizations from across St. Kitts and Nevis gathered at the CUNA Conference Room for the nation’s Inaugural Nonprofit Network Meeting — a landmark event aimed at strengthening collaboration among civil society organizations and amplifying the role of volunteerism in sustainable development.
The meeting focused on the formation of a national nonprofit network and aligned with the ongoing global dialogue on volunteerism for sustainable development. Participants engaged in lively and solution-driven discussions, sharing their insights, challenges, and aspirations for a more coordinated approach to community action and social progress.
The initiative was made possible through the joint efforts of the Chipeen Volunteer Center, Climate Action Unit, Department of Community Development and Social Services, UN Representative for St. Kitts and Nevis, Department of Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP), Good Deeds Day, International Association for Volunteer Effort and several other committed nonprofit organizations.“
This gathering is not just a meeting — it’s a movement,” said a representative of the organizing committee. “We are building the foundation for a strong, unified network that will elevate our collective efforts and bring real impact to our communities.”
The event was highly engaging, marked by a spirit of collaboration and optimism. Plans are already underway for next steps, with working groups to be formed and action items identified to take the network forward.
