PRIME MINISTER DREW HIGHLIGHTS FURTHER CONCERNS OVER PAST CHRISTOPHE HARBOUR DEALINGS

Basseterre, Saint Kitts, June 06, 2025 (PMO) — As Prime Minister, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew revealed during his most recent RoundTable engagement on Tuesday, June 03, 2025, new documentation has once again brought to light the extent of questionable backdoor arrangements orchestrated by former Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris in connection with Christophe Harbour.

The attached email correspondence, provided below, was written in December 2017, by the then-Chairman of the Board of the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF).

The email outlines the alarming framework of a secretive deal being constructed between Harris and the developer, Buddy Darby, concerning Christophe Harbour. In this correspondence, the SIDF Chairman makes it clear that the transaction being pursued not only bypassed proper channels of transparency and accountability but also exposed the Federation’s assets to the risk of further exploitation by private interests operating with the full backing and protection of Harris’s political office.

This previously concealed correspondence underscores what many in the public have long suspected: that the affairs surrounding Christophe Harbour under the Harris administration were not conducted in the interest of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, but were instead carefully designed to serve private arrangements between political leaders and select developers, without parliamentary oversight or public disclosure.

Prime Minister Drew once again reaffirms his administration’s full commitment to transparency, accountability, and protecting the national assets of St. Kitts and Nevis for the benefit of the people, not private profiteers.
