President Zhaparov and the delegation discussed a broad range of pressing international issues, including the evolving geopolitical environment, threats to international and regional security, counter terrorism efforts, climate change, nuclear nonproliferation, and the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

President Zhaparov reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s unwavering commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, international law, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. He emphasized that, amid rising global instability, dialogue, solidarity, and constructive engagement among states are essential. He further underscored Kyrgyzstan’s readiness to contribute to global security, support sustainable development initiatives, and champion the interests of developing countries and small states.

The Permanent Representatives commended Kyrgyzstan’s progress in socioeconomic development and its active role in promoting international cooperation, peaceful resolution of regional issues, and sustainable development. They also highlighted the country’s consistent advocacy for small and developing states and its efforts to promote a more inclusive and balanced international order.

The parties expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation in areas such as the protection and sustainable development of mountain regions, expansion of multilateral and bilateral trade and economic ties, investment and tourism, and cultural and educational exchanges.

Ambassador Williams welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with President Zhaparov and fellow Permanent Representatives in Bishkek. She underscored the importance of inclusive multilateralism and the meaningful role of small states in shaping global solutions.

“Saint Kitts and Nevis remains committed to constructive dialogue and partnership,” Ambassador Williams stated. “As small states, we understand the value of cooperation and the power of collective action. We will continue to work with like-minded partners to advance peace, resilience, and sustainable development.”

In addition to the meeting with President Zhaparov, the delegation also held discussions with His Excellency Jeenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as other high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These engagements provided an opportunity to further explore avenues for cooperation, strengthen diplomatic ties, and deepen dialogue on shared priorities across security, development, and multilateral engagement.

Ambassador Williams brings to her role a strong foundation in security focused public policy, diplomacy, and international affairs. She holds a Doctorate in Public Policy and Administration with a double concentration in Terrorism Mediation and Peace, and Homeland Security Policy and Coordination. She also holds a graduate certificate in Advanced International Relations with a double emphasis in Intelligence and Diplomacy and has been formally certified in her field.
