BASSETERRE (20TH April 2018): The Ministry of Tourism is seeking the best Plantain Dish in the Federation, which will be the featured dish  during the 2018 St. Kitts-Nevis Restaurant Week, 20 to 29th July, 2018.

The Plantain Cook Off Challenge is opened to all persons who have an interest in culinary arts and who can creatively provide a unique, and yet savoury dish that would appeal to the patrons of Restaurant Week.

Registrants can sign up to compete in any or all of the three categories:

  • entrée or appetizer
  • (2) beverage
  • (3) dessert.

Persons are required to sign up at the Department of Agriculture or the Ministry of Tourism on either St. Kitts or Nevis. All participants must provide the name of their dish and their contact information by 4pm on Wednesday 25th April 2018.

The first round of the Cook Off Challenge will be held on Saturday 12th May 2018.

Judging criteria for the first round will be:

  • Appearance
  • Taste
  • Execution Quality
  • Use of Main Ingredient
