TEAM UNITY GOVERNMENT’S RECORD OF DELIVERY FAR EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS, SAYS PRIME MINISTER HARRIS

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 29, 2019 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, while delivering an electrifying presentation at the People’s Action Movement (PAM’s) 54th Annual National Convention on Sunday (April 28), stated that if given an honest assessment, most, if not all, would agree that the Team Unity administration, which he leads, has performed exceptionally well in less than one full term in office.

“If you are honest, whatever may have been the personal delivery, you would have to admit that what you have seen happening in this our country has never happened in such a short interval as had happened now in less than one term,” Prime Minister Harris said to a rousing round of applause from the hundreds of PAM supporters in attendance at the party’s headquarters.

Dr. Harris was referring to the work undertaken by Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Lindsay Grant, and his team that led to St. Kitts being recognized internationally as a marquee tourism destination; the government’s massive response to the social needs of the country, as well as the comprehensive infrastructural improvements being pursued including the construction of a second cruise pier at Port Zante, the rehabilitation of the island main road network and the roll out of a multi-million-dollar project along the Old Road Bay road.

Prime Minister Harris said, “From airport to seaport we’re looking good. From Conaree to Cayon we’re looking good…and when you reach to Old Road and you see the massive project that will transform Old Road and St. Kitts on the western side, you have to marvel that this is a government that is making history daily.”

The Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris-led Team Unity administration has also commenced the process to deliver affordable healthcare to all citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis through the National Health Insurance scheme; introduced a $500 monthly disbursement to households in the Federation earning less than $3,000 per month and has assisted more than 3000 households across St. Kitts and Nevis through the most comprehensive house response ever seen in the country.

The prime minister continued, “These things are remarkable because they attest to the wisdom of your choice on 16th of February, 2015, when you had a choice and you chose Team Unity, and I say thank you.”
