Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education, Darryl Lloyd, commended the staff of the Department of Youth Empowerment for organizing the annual Youth Month celebration. This year’s theme was Empowering our Youth to Follow Their Dreams: Youth Month 2019.  Mr. Lloyd noted that the activities are usually of a very high quality and encouraged the young people to take advantage of the many opportunities offered by the department.

“I recognize in our world that we are always bashing our young people and [some] are always trying to fight down our young people but I declare it over you our young people that you are great, and you are going to do wonders in our beautiful islands,” the CEO stated.

Other activities that marked Youth Month included, a First Aid and CPR Training on November 02; Youth Island Bike Ride on November 03; Minister’s Youth Forum on November 20; The 25 Most Remarkable Teens Awards Ceremony on November 22; High School Chefs’ Competition on November 27; and a March and Rally on November 29.
