With Nigeria being one of the strongest and most influential economies in Africa, boasting a population of over 250 million people, Prime Minister Drew expressed strong interest in building partnerships that would allow St. Kitts and Nevis to benefit from Nigeria’s expertise, scale, and resources. Areas of potential cooperation include educational exchange programmes, healthcare partnerships, investment in key sectors such as technology and renewable energy, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The leaders also discussed the upcoming inaugural joint summit between the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the African Union (AU), scheduled to take place in September 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Both sides affirmed the importance of advancing the CARICOM-AU agenda and further aligning the interests of African and Caribbean nations to pursue common development goals and global advocacy.

As St. Kitts and Nevis continues to assert its voice on the international stage, this bilateral represents another step forward in the government’s pursuit of diplomatic diversification and economic cooperation.
