Basseterre, St. Kitts – Elevate proudly welcomed back the students of New Horizons Rehabilitation Center as they returned to school today with renewed hope, purpose, and determination. Project Coordinator of Elevate, Ms. Alicia Collins, along with tutors Mr. Antawn Thompson and Mr. Glenroy Smithen, extended heartfelt commendations to the students for their remarkable performance in the End of School Year Examinations held in June and July 2025.
To further support the transition into the new academic year, students were given mini mock CSEC examinations to measure how well they had retained the material taught. The results exceeded expectations, with students expressing pride and gratitude for their achievements. “I was very surprised with my results,” one student remarked. “I can’t believe I did that kind of work!” The success boosted their confidence and set the stage for an ambitious and productive year ahead.Tutors encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence under the Education Theme for this school year: “Endless Possibilities, Your Story is Still Being Written.” They emphasized that with a glimpse of their own potential, the students could begin working with deeper focus and purpose.
Project Coordinator Alicia Collins applauded the tutors for their innovative teaching strategies and ability to connect with the students, helping them overcome learning barriers. “Our goal is to make education fun, meaningful, and transformative,” she said. “As the theme reminds us, their stories are still being written, and it is our responsibility to create opportunities and avenues that allow our students to weave chapters of victory, success, hope, and light.”
Director of New Horizons Rehabilitation Center, Miss Williams, expressed gratitude to the Elevate team for their continued excellence. She encouraged the students to remain steadfast in their pursuit of knowledge, reminding them that greatness lies within each of them.
The morning concluded with Ms. Collins, supported by the tutors, leading the students in interactive games, ushering in the school year with laughter, hope, and a breath of renewal.
