Prime Minister Drew is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, CIU Executive Chair Mr. Calvin St. Juste, and Senior Foreign Service Officer Ms. Jamela Davis.

During the opening day, leaders will convene in plenary sessions focused on issues shaping the future of the CELAC–EU partnership, including peace and security, democratic stability, climate resilience, sustainable development, and global cooperation. Prime Minister Drew is expected to deliver a national statement highlighting St. Kitts and Nevis’ firm commitment to maintaining the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, the existential threat climate change poses to Small Island Developing States, and the need for urgent global action and climate financing.

The Prime Minister’s intervention is also expected to elevate the urgency of climate action, referencing the recent devastation in Jamaica caused by Hurricane Melissa, and positioning St. Kitts and Nevis’ Sustainable Island State Agenda (SISA) as a bold architecture for resilience, environmental stewardship, and national transformation.

As one of the smallest independent nations participating in the Summit, St. Kitts and Nevis’ presence signals its continued commitment to multilateral diplomacy, global solidarity, and principled leadership. Prime Minister Drew reaffirmed that the Federation will continue working closely with CELAC and EU partners to strengthen peace, accelerate climate action, and advance sustainable prosperity across shared borders.
