Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 30, 2020 (RSCNPF): Ten (10) individuals have successfully completed the first-ever training workshop for Compliance and Task Force Personnel in Nevis. The newly recruited Task Force members were awarded their certificates of completion during a closing ceremony earlier this week. The ceremony was held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall in Charlestown where the workshop also took place. Like their St. Kitts counterparts, they will either be posted at quarantine sites as security personnel or assist with ensuring compliance with the health protocols that were established last year. Dr Armstrong Alexis of Saint Lucia has been appointed as the new Deputy Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Dr Alexis takes up his post from 1 November 2021. Dr Alexis was previously at the United Nations Development Programme where he has had a distinguished career in the Caribbean, the Pacific and Africa rising to the level of Deputy Resident Representative in Namibia. The government’s Human Resource Management Department is inviting applications to fill the position of Counsel in the Intellectual Property Office on a full-time basis at the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Laws Degree and the Legal Education Certificate from a law school within the Commonwealth.
